Bernie Sanders Rescinds Cenk Uygur Endorsement After Swift Backlash
Well, that was fast. Yesterday Bernie Sanders endorsed Duck Fat model Cenk Uygur, and hours later, he had to un-endorse Duck Fat model Cenk Uygur. Apparently the backlash, due to Cenk's comments about women, sex, and bestiality, was intense.
Check out these timestamps:
So what happened? Easy. Bernie Sanders supporters have Google too, and when Cenk is on camera saying things like this...
But it goes beyond just wanting to pleasure horses, which actually should be enough. Cenk has a history of writing some rather disturbing things about women. Sure, all in his past. Now that I think of it, Bernie Sanders has said some weird stuff about women in his past. But to my knowledge, hasn't said anything about screwing animals.
California's Women's List voiced their disapproval with Cenk, saying:
“California Women's List is disappointed in Senator Sanders’ endorsement of Cenk Uygur, a candidate who has repeatedly used misogynistic, racist, and homophobic language,” Emily Zahn, board president of California Women’s List, which fundraises for female Democratic candidates across the state, told The Daily Beast. “This endorsement appears to go against Senator Sanders' platform and role as a leader in the progressive movement.”
That wasn't the only group who voiced their displeasure that Bernie would give his blessing to someone so obviously disgusting.
“If Bernie Sanders is a real progressive—he will disavow Cenk Uygur immediately,” the National Organization for Women’s Hollywood chapter told The Daily Beast in a statement, calling Uygur’s past comments about women “both disturbing and disqualifying.”“If Bernie Sanders expects to get the support of women in his campaign for the White House in 2020, he needs to start prioritizing them in his race by taking back his endorsement of known misogynist Cenk Uygur.”
A lot of the time, "muh sexist" seems a little overblown. But it's not just sexist comments or writings. There's a whole catalog of Cenkisms that are, in the words of supposed progressives, a little problematic.
Think of the oppo research against Cenk. Mother of God, the content.
Well about one hour later after the initial endorsement:
Now Cenk is selling this as he doesn't want to be beholden to special interests. Maybe those special interests he doesn't want to be beholden to are ranchers and farmers who'd prefer Cenk kept his member where it belongs, like not in a barnyard animal.
Cenk is running in California, trying to take Katie Hill's seat, a woman who had to resign after some disgusting sexual games of her own came out. Perhaps being a sicko is just a box one has to tick in order to get elected in that district.
Remember when politicians at least pretended to be semi-decent?
