Homeless encampment behind eldery man's home has overgrown to be a safety concern, Karen Bass's LA refuses to take action

When people live out retirement, the last thing they expect is for a massive homeless encampment to erupt behind their residence. That nightmare is a reality for one Los Angeles resident, who feels the city could not care less about his public safety and public health concerns over the zombies living behind his house.

Roxann Becnel is concerned about the homeless encampment that has grown behind her father’s home over the years. Neighbors are also concerned, but for some reason, city officials seem to believe the compassionate thing to do is nothing. Why do you think that is?

Per Fox 11:
Becnel said the encampment has existed in some form for years but has expanded significantly in recent weeks.
Her primary concern is her 82-year-old father, who has limited mobility and lives just feet from the encampment.
"I do feel for the people who have to live on the street," Becnel said. "But it does make me emotional because my dad, like I said, he’s 82, and he shouldn’t have to live his later years dealing with this right outside his window."
Neighbors are also considered about fire risks, which the city has already proven time and again that fires are the last thing officials prioritize. Nonetheless, if public safety is not a concern, then certainly public health would be, right? Unfortunately for the victims of the encampment, it would appear not.
Several neighbors told FOX 11 they are worried because a fire broke out near the encampment about a year ago.
"It was very scary because obviously it was right up against the back of our house," neighbor Erica Brown said. "We could literally see the flames, and we were just not sure if it was going to spread to our actual house."
Brown said neighbors also report frequent disturbances, including arguments, yelling and activity late into the night.
If you are surprised by this, you are not paying attention. Not only is this unacceptable in America, but even the third world would be shocked by such conditions. And even worse, this is a slap in the face for both the homeowners and the drug-addicted zombies, as officials prove neither party is much of a concern.
If the city cared about the drug-addicted zombies, they would do everything in their power to get them off the street and into treatment. If they cared about the neighbors, they would still get the zombies off the street. By turning a blind eye and doing nothing, officials have proven that they don't care about anyone.
The election to elect the next mayor of Los Angeles will take place on Tuesday. Let’s hope these homeowners and residents do what needs to be done and vote for anything but more of the same.
