Look, I get it. "Who cares about New York City? Low-information, easily manipulated (mostly white) urbanites voted for The Zohran. Let them get what they voted for good and hard!"

I agree! But you need to look at The Zohran as a warning of what the left will do if given the opportunity where you live in Real America.

NYC has this thing called a "pied-à-terre tax." It's an excuse to "tax the rich" based on whether they own a second home in New York City. It's so popular among the extreme left; acolytes of The Zohran are using it to troll rich people even before they move to NYC.

The Zohran created social media content bragging about his plan to penalize people who have more money than you do. But remember, this was only supposed to affect "billionaires." People who only have a second, non-primary residence in NYC. Like, 17,000 people or so.

Then the city "accidentally" doxxed close to a million NYC homeowners.

I put "accidentally" in finger quotes, because there are the more cynical among us who claim it was done on purpose in order to scare rich people into thinking they could get Luigi Mangione'd. I know, right? It's like cynically implying The Zohran and his believers want to globalize the intafada.

Now, instead of only the filthy rich being penalized, it's anyone whose home is worth more than a million. When the average home price is around $900k, that's not a lot of money. And those homeowners are burdened with proving that it's their primary residence or get a cripling tax bill.

The Zohran is attempting to clarify/backtrack, saying that it's only 17,000 people who are accused of owning a second home, and those people have the opportunity to contest the accusation. It's only the first step.

Here's where those of you living in Real America need to pay attention. Notice how quickly it went from $5million to $1million. Notice how a list of homeowners was "accidentally" published. Notice in California, where if you read the fine print of the "billionaire's tax" that they want people to vote for, it says Democrat politicians reserve the right to raise taxes on everyone if they so choose. Yes, even non-billionaires.

The left preys on ignorance, especially when it comes to taxes and finances. "Tax the rich" sounds good, because you're supposed to not care that someone who has more than you is getting penalized for it. It's never just "the rich" who get taxed. They're just the ones who go first.

The left will always come for you next. NYC is cooked. Los Angeles and Chicago are cooked. Don't let where you live be cooked as well.
