Andy Ngo Recounts Near-Death Antifa Assault... and How the Media Suggested He Deserved It

“The media seemed to suggest I deserved it, because they branded me ‘far right’”, @MrAndyNgo on the media after Antifa nearly murdered him.
For years the symbioses between the Left, aggressive and violent activist, the media, funders and government bodies has made sure that… https://t.co/nM0pRUYK51

If Antifa were truly protesting to end racism and other injustices, they would welcome journalists to document every part of their demonstrations. But the truth is, there’s nothing they hate more than that. Why? What are they trying to hide? That’s exactly what Andy Ngo tried to uncover—and he nearly lost his life in the process.
On Wednesday, Trump held a roundtable discussion focused on Antifa. The event included journalists who had personally experienced violence from the far-left group. One of the attendees was Andy Ngo, Editor for The Post Millennial.
Ngo described what he saw during the 2016 election riots and was disturbed by how mainstream media portrayed the violence as a legitimate protest. In 2019, while covering another Antifa riot, Ngo was brutally attacked by a mob, leaving him severely injured.
And the worst part? After the attack, some people even implied he deserved it, simply because they labeled him as far-right.
“The media seemed to suggest I deserved it, because they branded me ‘far right.’”
It’s incomprehensible how the left will victim-blame someone solely because they disagree politically. It doesn’t matter that an innocent man nearly lost his life because they see it as nothing more than a personal problem, especially if acknowledging it would make them look bad. Calling that morally indefensible would be an understatement.
It also didn't stop there. In 2021, while going undercover, he was chased, beaten, and nearly choked unconscious, resulting in another hospitalization.
These may or may not be the reasons this organization doesn’t want journalists documenting their demonstrations. You do the math.
Ngo told Trump, "Thank you so much for acknowledging Antifa and for directing your administration to treat them as domestic terrorists. It’s going to be really challenging, because how they organize is that they are decentralized, autonomous, and they operate on deception, and we’re still, to this day, told that they don’t exist, that it’s a figment of our imagination."
It’s infuriating that the left claims Antifa is nothing more than an “idea,” when that so-called “idea” has already cost lives.
Trump noted local and state leadership, saying, "the amazing thing is, you look at Portland and you see fires all over the place. You see fights and, I mean, just violence. It’s just so crazy. And then you talk to the governor, and she acts like everything is totally normal. There’s nothing wrong."
These so-called “domestic terrorists” wouldn’t feel nearly as emboldened if the media didn’t do their dirty work for them. Most Americans wouldn’t defend this if they understood the true extent of what’s happening, because what Antifa is doing is indefensible. And the fact that so many leftists blame you simply for condemning this kind of political violence against fellow Americans is reprehensible, at best.
