Democrat official gets busted shoplifting from Target, and it's not the first time

Many customers have complained that stores like Target are removing self-checkout, forcing them to wait in long lines for a cashier. And it’s because of people like State Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan—who was caught stealing—that you can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Connecticut Dem Allie-Brennan was arrested for shoplifting after claiming he “was in a rush to bring items to my grandmother in the hospital, the store didn’t have bags, and [he] was juggling multiple purchases.”
What's even more ironic is that he previously voted in favor of a bag ban, making the bag excuse sound even more ridiculous.
You literally cannot make this up.
CT Democrat Rep. was arrested for shoplifting and claimed it was cuz he was in a rush and the store didn’t have bags.

According to CT Mirror:
State Rep. Raghib Allie-Brennan, D-Bethel, said Tuesday on social media that his arrest on a shoplifting charge Monday evening was due to his failure to scan two items as he used the self-checkout at a Target store in Bethel.
A Bethel police summary of his arrest stated Allie-Brennan was detained by Target loss prevention personnel who told police they recognized him from “previous unreported larcenies.”
Let’s be honest—if you’re so incompetent that you can’t be trusted to pay for your merchandise, that’s a pretty strong sign you’re not fit to represent the people of Connecticut. And it’s no surprise that the same man who pushed to ban plastic bags is now blaming one for his actions.
“While I do not have a record, I take full responsibility for the error and am working through the legal processes to resolve the matter quickly and respectfully,” he said on Facebook.
Call me crazy, but if the store recognized him from multiple shoplifting incidents, that’s probably a sign this wasn’t just some innocent ‘mistake’—but that’s beside the point. The real issue is that this is exactly why we can’t have nice things. Whether it’s through their policies or their behavior, the Democrats keep making things worse, and this story is just another example.
