It’s unclear what Heather Abrahamson would do if someone tried to run her over with their car, but we can almost be certain she would assume her “life was in danger.” However, she still found the audacity to claim that the federal officer who was nearly run over by Renee Good was, in fact, not in danger. This is why she believed it was appropriate to tell students that he was in the wrong, despite the facts not factoring into her assessment of the situation.

Abrahamson was filmed arguing with a student over the shooting of Good, claiming that the officer “was not in danger” while then saying, “Just because you’re alive doesn’t mean you’re intelligent.”

While it’s true that “just because you’re alive that doesn’t mean you’re intelligent,” as evidenced by the fact that she is alive, that still does not make it her place to attempt to indoctrinate her students as if she knows a thing or two about a thing or two.

Can we please just acknowledge that alleged attempted murder is wrong, regardless of your political beliefs? One person in this situation was trying to enforce the law, while the other disagreed with the political ideology behind that law and attempted to obstruct lawful duties while acting recklessly with a deadly weapon. One of these things is morally permissible; the other is not. You do the math.

This teacher also seems to make a habit of spouting her illogical viewpoints to students.

While the teacher has every right to her political beliefs, she should leave them out of the classroom. We can all agree that the situation was tragic, but that does not mean you blame the man who did what he believed he had to do to save his life. The sooner she realizes that, the better off both she and her students will be.
