Disney announced that 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' will return to ABC’s broadcast lineup starting Tuesday, according to an official statement. Today’s show breaks this down.
The announcement came about a week after ABC suspended the program indefinitely.
According to CNN:
But not all of ABC’s affiliated stations will be carrying Kimmel’s comeback show. Sinclair, one of the country’s biggest owners of local TV stations, said its ABC affiliates will preempt the show “beginning Tuesday night.” Sinclair said it will air news programming in the time slot instead.
The Kimmel controversy erupted last week after conservatives criticized a Kimmel monologue comment on Monday about the MAGA responses to the assassination of Charlie Kirk.
"They were lies denigrating the legacy of a man who was brutally assassinated," Crowder said. "I don’t accept your apology."
“The MAGA Gang (is) desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said. “In between the finger-pointing, there was grieving.”
"You are not apologizing for what you did, Jimmy Kimmel,” Crowder said.
Disney said it initially suspended Kimmel’s show to avoid inflaming tensions during a sensitive moment, noting that some comments were poorly timed and insensitive. The company added that, after “having thoughtful conversations with Jimmy,” it decided to bring the show back on Tuesday, according to CNN.
"Did the thoughtful conversations lead to the conclusion that you shouldn’t lie blatantly on air?" Crowder said. "By that, I don’t mean being inaccurate—I mean saying the exact opposite of the truth and claiming that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was a MAGA supporter."
The left wants you to see this as the powerful state bullying the little guy.
"The local affiliates were the ones who had an issue and took it to Sinclair," Crowder said. "Our community is going to be furious, likely because these areas are more conservative and don’t want to see Jimmy Kimmel lie following one of the most brutal assassinations we’ve witnessed publicly."
