A reporter from NBC News tried to get Condoleezza Rice to attack Donald Trump on race. According to NewsBusters, the former Secretary of State would have none of it.
It sure doesn’t feel worse than when I grew up in Jim Crow Alabama, okay? So let’s drop this notion that we’re worse race relations today than we were in the past. Really? That means we’ve made no progress, really? And so, I think the hyperbole about how much worse it is isn’t doing us any good.
I would be the first to say we need to watch our language about race….but when we start saying, ‘Oh, you know, it’s worse today,’ no, they’re not.
DISCLAIMER: I admittedly don’t know what it’s like to be an African American living in America. What with me not being an African American living in America. We all have different perspectives that frame how we look at the same things. I get that. However, I am fairly confident in saying things are not as bad as they were in the 60s. Or the 80s. Or even prior to 2009.
But this is less about race as much as it is about leftists trying to create a new political weapon. Their claims are everything is worse than it was. Things have never been as bad for African Americans, Gay Americans, Women Americans, and solve for x Americans as they are under Donald Trump. It’s why leftists want to compare everything to the Holocaust (see WATCH: Cory Booker Makes Wild Claims About Border Security and the Holocaust and Green New Deal Architect: Climate Change is 25 Holocausts).
The left wants you to believe, if you’re from one or more of their preferred protected classes, everything is worse for you now than it’s ever been. For those of us not in any of the protected classes, we have climate change to kill us all. Possibly net neutrality too.
We need more people like Condoleezza Rice to push back on the press when they start selling the left’s BS. It gets lonely otherwise.
