For some reason, pro-abortion leftists have decided down syndrome is their rallying point for abortion rights. Europe practically eliminated down syndrome (see Iceland Has Nearly ‘Eliminated’ Down Syndrome Through Abortion. And Satan Rejoiced… and Dutch Healthcare Shames Down Syndrome Man. For Costing ‘Too Much…’). Mainly because they eliminate people with down syndrome. Now American leftists are saying #MeToo.

No, there's nothing brave about a liberal reporter being pro-abortion. Though we can't be shocked. These same people celebrate Planned Parenthood, founded by someone who thought eliminating people based on "defects" was the bee's knees.

Liberals are on the pro-eugenics side. On the pro-dignity side is Sen. Ben Sasse. Who while not specifically mentioning the WaPo article, hit on all the same topics in a recent Facebook post.

The truth of who he is stands in stark contrast with some of the news we see coming out of Europe lately. In Iceland, and in Denmark, there are actually groups that brag, “we’re closer to getting to 100% than anybody else. We’re going to be first to be 100% Down Syndrome free.”

Sadly, they’re not talking about a near miraculous scientific breakthrough. They’re crowing about eliminating these babies before they’re born because it’s now possible to screen for Down Syndrome at such an early age. In France, there is actually a movement to make it illegal to show an ad featuring a Down Syndrome baby who has become a happy and healthy Down Syndrome kid because it might move people to compassion(!).

The contrast between the values displayed across Nebraska and those being bragged about in Europe is hard for Melissa and me to stomach.

Much like arm bands and demanding gun control from a president they call Literally Hitler, I don't think leftists thought this one through.
