A Ukrainian family wouldn't let their daughter "transition" to a boy, so California took away their custody

Wasn’t it the left who demanded we respect all cultures? Aren’t all cultures created equal? If that is the case, then why are leftist officials in California kidnapping the children of Ukrainian immigrants solely because they disagree on how to raise their “trans” child? This is something that will never be moral, and history won’t look kindly at the people who “just followed orders.”
Two parents have been placed on the child abuse registry and have lost custody of their daughter after they decided against affirming the trans identity of their child.
🚨A Ukrainian family in California has lost custody of their daughter after refusing to allow her to medically transition to a "boy."
Speaking to Reduxx, the parents say they were also entered into an abuse registry by child protective services.https://t.co/kkQ4mi5XPf

According to Reduxx:
The mother, who will be referred to as Ellie, told Reduxx that a social worker from Shasta County Child Welfare Services arrived at the family’s home on June 3, 2024, without prior notice. According to Ellie, the worker accused the parents of emotional abuse and demanded access to their daughter, who will be referred to as Maya, without presenting a warrant or court order.
“She just kept saying, ‘You’re emotionally abusing your child,’” Ellie said. “But she had nothing in her hands. No paperwork. Nothing.”
The removal was a dramatic climax following years of instability that Ellie says began in early childhood. After the family immigrated to the United States in 2007, Maya began experiencing anxiety, anger issues, attention difficulties, and emotional dysregulation. Her mental health concerns, which once resulted in a temporary placement in a psychiatric facility, were made worse by the persistent bullying she experienced at school starting in first and second grade. She said the bullying came not only from other students but also from indifferent teachers, and that repeated complaints to school administrators were dismissed.
The daughter has a long history of mental health struggles. In one instance, she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after a phone assessment. Her mother claims that her daughter would often obsessively research mental health and psychological issues, often requesting specific medications at appointments.
At the end of that year, the family visited Mercy Medical Center for a routine check-up that would change their fate forever. While speaking with the doctor, Maya requested a referral to see a psychiatrist. Believing she was just seeking more counseling for her difficulties at school, Ellie was initially supportive.
The daughter, who was prescribed lithium at one point and antidepressants later on, became interested in pursuing a transgender identity.
This is not surprising, considering that the comorbidities among trans individuals for mental health issues are undeniable. The fact that the state decided it knows what is in the best interest of a child who has explicit mental health issues over the parents is reprehensible and deranged. This should not be legal, and I would not be surprised if there are mass constitutional violations here.
By early 2024, the situation escalated further. Maya, then 14, began demanding hormone replacement therapy and spoke explicitly about wanting a hysterectomy. Her parents refused, asking her to wait until she was 18 before making serious medical decisions.
After this refusal, Ellie said Maya became entirely unmanageable. She stopped eating with the family, and accused her parents of abuse.
Maya was later removed from their custody, as their parents were accused of abuse.
Constant hearings never resulted in any indication Maya would be returned to them, and, as the family finally got the chance to access reports and more information, they learned their cultural background had been cited by the state as being “in conflict” with the child’s gender identity.
In an effort not to be sent back home, Ellie claims Maya would threaten self-harm, often citing “transphobia” as a reason not to be with her family. But it’s not even that the parents didn’t want to “affirm” their child; it’s that they wanted Maya to be an adult before she made an irreversible medical decision.
This is an incredibly sad story and, unfortunately, something that is not out of the ordinary in America. It is parents—the ones who have raised the child from their very first breath—who know what is in the best interest of their kids. The state was never intended to have the power to override that solely based on leftist ideology. This should not happen in America, and it needs to end yesterday.
