UFC's Chris Leben Talks Prison and Gun Control!
So this is one that may surprise you. Chris Leben, legendary UFC fighter (and author the new book "Cage Fighting and My Life on The Edge") stopped by to talk about his recent prison sentence, his life and even his worldview on politics and culture.
Most fascinating is the reason Chris Leben went to prison. Despite his tattoos and "bad boy" image, Chris was never a felon before, and the charge they nailed him with was carrying an "assault rifle" in California. This was a legally owned gun (registered in Oregon) but didn't meet the ammo capacity requirements in California. So a man with a gun, legally owned, unloaded... went to prison for breaking the law in California.
I can't recommend reading Chris Leben's book enough, though a very strong NSFW warning. Watch, and be amazed at this man's life story. Chris Leben. Enjoy.
Highlights:
- Gun would've been legal and Oregon, but he crossed into the Crazy People's Republic of California, and everything went way wrong.
- His really smart ex-wife's lawyer maybe had something to do with it...
- Did you know he used to be called the "Cat-smasher"? No relation to the cat killed by Steven Avery. Stop it.
Of course this isn't the first time I've talked gun control with a famous UFC celebrity. I was on the legendary Joe Rogan's podcast not long ago, and the convo got interesting.
