Mayor Monroe Nichols IV has put forth a proposal to create a $100 million trust as part of reparations in regards to the Tulsa Race Massacre, which took place in 1921. This means the mayor has decided to use the fruits of other people’s labor to address things that happened over 100 years ago, even though none of those victims are likely alive today. Makes sense, right?

According to Fox News:

Mayor Monroe Nichols IV, elected mayor in November, says the trust would be used to provide scholarships and housing to the descendants of those impacted by the massacre. He clarified that the trust would not involve direct cash payments, however.

"For 104 years, the Tulsa Race Massacre has been a stain on our city's history," Nichols said Sunday. "The massacre was hidden from history books, only to be followed by the intentional acts of redlining, a highway built to choke off economic vitality and the perpetual underinvestment of local, state and federal governments."

The private charitable trust would be created with a goal to secure $105 million in assets, with most of the funding either secured or committed by June 1, 2026.

Let’s get this straight: the mayor wants to punish people for something that happened over 100 years ago—even though none of them were alive at the time—to reward individuals who were also not alive and therefore not victims. In other words, create a problem that doesn’t exist, for reasons that will never be morally justified. Got it.

It’s unclear when ancestral crime became part of the progressive agenda, but one thing’s certain—they’ll demand zero evidence before punishing or rewarding people based solely on skin color.

I think there’s a word for this... what is it again? Oh, right—RACISM.

Like every other time the left has pushed some fake reparations scheme, this one probably won’t go anywhere either. Still, the mayor has made it pretty clear who he’s really trying to represent—and that’s just a small group of people who happen to share his skin color. That’s not someone standing on the right side of history, no matter how much he talks about so-called ancestral consequences.
