Donald Trump mentioned Dylan Mulvaney several times during his speech at the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Unfortunately, this now means the trans-identified male is making his way back into the headlines. Today’s show breaks it down.
Per his comments:
“I thought Kaitlan had really made it big with a major new sponsorship, but then I informed her that it wasn’t her on the Bud Light can, it was Dylan Mulvaney,” Trump said in his speech. “Dylan Mulvaney cost Bud Light $35 billion in market cap. That was the worst commercial ever made by the way, for those few people who want to hear that. Most people don’t care, but I would. I wouldn’t want to hire Dylan any time soon.”
“The fact that anybody demands me to acknowledge and affirm this person as anything other than a deranged freak show is coercion. That is a very, very unhealthy, freaky, little man,” Crowder said.
According to Variety, Mulvaney sees this as a “compliment.”
In her response, Mulvaney — who most recently starred in the Broadway musical “Six” — first congratulated Collins, saying: “I’m incredibly honored to be compared to her in any way and I hope that she continues doing all the great work.” She then marveled at the fact that she’s “been kind of flying under the radar” since the Bud Light video, but is “still his topic of conversation all these years later.”
“He takes it as success to crater the stock of Bud Light. You know what his success is? It is just attention,” Crowder said. “The term narcissist is thrown around so often it has lost all meaning. Yet, we do not acknowledge the actual, probably clinical narcissist right in front of our face. Everything about Dylan Mulvaney revolves around looks.”
This is because Mulvaney claims that once he completely transformed his looks, got a whole new wardrobe, and injected himself with hormones, only then was he his true, authentic self.
“Once [he] became entirely self-absorbed with the superficial, [his] life had meaning. That is what they want you to believe,” Crowder said.
