The slaughter of womb-dwelling children is a perpetual hot topic. Conservatives and leftists are always going back and forth about whether or not it's cool to murder the unborn. (Spoiler: it's always wrong, even when it's a different kind of wrong which inconveniences you).

In the state of Texas, we can consider a financial part of the debate settled. The Lone Star State said no to taxpayer funded abortions. For reals.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott signed today a bill to restrict state funding for abortion insurance.

The new law will keep Texans from having to pay for elective abortions through their insurance plans.

"As a firm believer in Texas values I am proud to sign legislation that ensures no Texan is ever required to pay for a procedure that ends the life of an unborn child,” Gov. Abbott said. “This bill prohibits insurance providers from forcing Texas policy holders to subsidize elective abortions. I am grateful to the Texas legislature for getting this bill to my desk, and working to protect innocent life this special session.”

HB-214, which the House passed last week and the Senate approved Sunday, applies to “elective” abortions and specifically includes an exemption for cases of medical emergency to save the mother’s life.

YES!

Now, before you leftists go nuclear with rage and burn something down, take a moment to recognize you can still murder your babies freely. The only difference is you have to pay for it yourselves. No more suckling at the Texas taxpayer's teat to off your own unborn child, thus never getting to use your own teet to suckle a child. If you want to commit infanticide look after your "reproductive health," you'll have to go it alone. Make your money your own blood money. Leave the rest of us out of your "choice."

This law is a good counterbalance to laws in leftist states that put all abortions on the taxpayer's dime. Despite what progressives think, most of us don't jump for joy over the prospect of butchering the babes with a Shop Vac. Call us old fashioned.

It seems the tide is turning on the abortion front. The new guy's already banned taxpayer funded abortions overseas and conservative-leaning states are cracking down on the infanticide (see Texas Restricts ‘Dismemberment’ Abortions.
