Sunny Hostin of The View is back with another ice-cold take. Like, I'm not sure what bubble she's living in, but she's quite disconnected from the American people. So it must be a pretty strong bubble. Perhaps titanium.

Sunny was, of course, talking about Ron DeSantis, since he and Trump make up about 90% of The View's daily content. She said, "What DeSantis is doing in Florida would never work on the national stage. I mean drag queens can't read at libraries, there can't be any drag shows, people can just randomly get guns everywhere."

I, for one, had no idea guns were just handed out on Florida street corners.

She and Joy Behar then criticized DeSantis and Republicans for "taking away their freedoms" while claiming to be part of the pro-freedom party. And by "freedoms" they mean the freedom to expose toddlers to sexually inappropriate material and take your guns away. She seems to be mistaking "freedoms" for "things that should not be permitted in a functioning, free, moral society". A common mistake.

Plus, Sunny isn't even correct in her assertion that Americans wouldn't want the DeSantis agenda implemented nationwide. A Rasmussen poll from last year found 60% of American adults oppose "Drag Queen Hour". As for her bizarre guns comment, I'm not sure what to make of that. But another 2022 Rasmussen poll found 51% of Americans don't think stricter gun control would stop mass shootings. And for what it's worth, FiveThirtyEight found more Americans have a favorable view of DeSantis than unfavorable.

So it seems the ladies of The View are living in quite the bubble. But what else is new. Trump winning in 2016 was such a shock for mainstream media folks, they were literally crying live on air. Here's to hoping for a similar outcome in 2024.
