Yes, Spencer Pratt's SOCIALIST opponent. Not that Karen Bass doesn't have many socialist tendencies. But she identifies as a Democrat. The proper socialist in the mayoral race is councilwoman Nithya Raman, the homeless advocate Pratt said would get stabbed by methheads if she ever ackshually tried to advocate for the homeless. She also wants to ban you from BBQing in your backyard. She'd be a horrible socialist if she weren't trying to rule over you.

From the California Post:

Raman introduced a motion Wednesday directing city officials to examine emergency restrictions on grilling during Red Flag Warning days, when high winds and dry conditions significantly increase wildfire danger across Los Angeles.

The proposal specifically asks officials to consider possible limits on backyard barbecues, fire pits and other open flames in residential neighborhoods during those high-risk weather events.

You could do something about the socialist rhetoric that inspires the person who burned the Pallisades down. Or you can do something about the homeless encampments that are prone to catching fire. Or, you can ban the cookout.

Raman's suggestion went too far even for the Democrats on the council. To quote Councilmember Monica Rodriguez, “The last thing Angelenos need is a ban on hosting a carne asada in their own backyard."

Pratt went more of the white boy summer route. Rocking out in his yard with a brisket, telling Raman to "come and take it."

As shockingly non-shocking as this may sound, socialist Raman is the choice of Hollywood celebrities:

This is what California's "jungle primaries" are made for. Instead of a general election between a Republican and a Democrat, they're supposed to get a general election between a socialist and a more moderate socialist. The rub is that the scheme is backfiring this year, with Pratt running for mayor, Steve Hilton running for governor, and all the leftist opponents being fifty shades of incompetent.

That's not to say it won't still come down to a socialist (Raman) against a moderate socialist (Bass). Never underestimate voters in cities destroyed by progressive politics for generations to continue to be manipulated to vote against their self-interests. Then, they wonder why they had to step over two homeless people to get assaulted on their way to the store where everything is locked up.

All things being equal? If I had to choose between a pro-BBQ candidate and an anti-BBQ candidate, I'm doing a whole hog roast with Spencer Pratt. Just saying.
