As if Disney's She-Hulk: Attorney at Law wasn't insufferable enough, the actress (I'll look her name up in a bit) is lashing out at two celebrities Americans actually care about: Tom Selleck and Michael Jordan. Why? Because those two "bizarre" "cowards" chose not to alienate their fans. Though, to be fair, I'm going off of what the internet tells me about She-Hulk being insufferable. I barely made it through the first episode before deciding it was two packs of ass.

Tatiana Maslany was yakking on a podcast about interjecting a political agenda into entertainment. She is all for it because "all entertainment is political because it has a viewpoint," which translates to "all entertainment should be political with HER viewpoint."

But it's not enough to force your agenda on someone. She looks down on people who choose, get this, not to do that.

All entertainment is political because it has a viewpoint, and it has a perspective. It has visual representation of the world we live in or the kinds of things that are funny or acceptable or the ways that people relate to each other. It’s all about interpersonal… like there’s no disconnect in my mind, and to me, those are two very rich men who stand to lose a lot if they stand up for something.

No, 100% not. It’s such a bizarre mentality. It’s so cowardly.

Side note: Another Marvel property, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, didn't interject any politics, nor did any of the actors say anything dumb on the red carpet, and it's the highest-grossing movie of all time. And that's even with, at least I'm guessing, Tom Holland and Zendaya voting for different people than we do.

The issue isn't with entertainment being "political" as much as it being "woke." Lots of art is political, and because it's Hollywood, political in a way those of us here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website disagree with. It's still enjoyable, engaging, and thought-provoking. Think The West Wing.

This is opposed to being "woke," where the big difference is lazy writing. Think She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

As someone who has been on the right since Alex P. Keaton, my default position is assuming a celebrity votes differently than I do. For me, it comes down to how obnoxious they are about it and if they sound like they hate the half of the country who disagrees with them. Or, at least half the country. For many celebrities, it's 80% of the country who disagree.

I'm a professional wrestling fan. Every so often, a wrestler will express an opinion on social media I don't agree with. That's fine. I too use social media to express political opinions. None of them are dicks about it. It never affects the bell-to-bell action when I turn my television on Mondays, Fridays, and the occasional Saturday.

Compare that to, and this is just an example off the top of my head, a show in a genre dominated by one demographic but meant to appeal to a niche of a niche of a niche audience, that lectures the demographic on how the show is "not for them" before accusing the demographic of being -ists guilty of various -isms and the occasional -phobia.

Then, after the show BOMBS because they alienated the core audience in favor of a niche of a niche of a niche audience that didn't care, they double down on accusing people of being -ists guilty of various -isms and the occasional -phobia.

THAT'S the problem people in 2026 have with entertainment getting too political.

And that's why people still know Tom Selleck and Michael Jordan, yet I've already forgotten She-Hulk's name.
