Saquon Barkley had a decent 2024. I know I'm supposed to hate him because he left The Giants for arch rivals The Eagles (even though I'm a Bills fan, aka the only actual New York team), but it's hard to hate on success when the person finding it, by all accounts, seems like a really good dude. Does any of this have to do with him finding Christianity? Saquon will tell you all of it does.
The rapper opened up while playing a few holes with popular golf YouTuber Grant Horvat.
Super Bowl Champ, Saquon Barkley & one of the biggest golf YouTubers, Grant Horvat talk about faith in Jesus Christ & how Barkley recently became a Christian 👏
“I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the best year I had in my career, I found my faith”

This isn't the first time Saquon has opened up about his faith. Shouts to Whiskey Riff, because I somehow missed this earlier in the year:
I’m not going to sit here and tell you that I know the Bible, like, in and out. It’s something I’m learning, I’m challenging myself to get better at with my family and my friends. (I’m) really lucky to have my agent, he’s a pastor and I’m able to have Bible studies with him.
But (I’m) just growing, and I think that’s the beautiful thing about it, and I think that’s what religion and faith is, is having a relationship with God and understanding who Jesus is, and that’s what I’ve been trying to do this year. I’m going to continue to try to get better at it.
Of course, the one story this year we did not miss was Saquon golfing with Donald Trump, to the dismay of the usual suspects in the media chirping about it on X. Barkley response was perfection. "Meh, he's the president. Get over it."
I'm paraphrasing.
Philadelphia Eagles Star Saquon Barkley just issued a powerful response to liberals who are attacking him for hanging out with President Trump.
"Some people are really upset cause I played golfed and flew to the White House with the PRESIDENT. Maybe I just respect the office,… pic.twitter.com/CKQyw5C9oe

It's a night pre-weekend palate cleanser from the usual content of "everything sucks," "everything is terrible," and "dear God, someone do something." Especially when, unfortunately, athletes are in the news for something other than the sport they play, it's never good.
Everything about Saquon Barkley says he's a solid dude on and off the field. We could use more of that.
