Addicts Are Not Too Happy Over San Francisco Mayor's Proposal To Enforce Drug Tests, Treatment For Welfare Recipients
Has Hell just frozen over? Well, not exactly.
You see, when San Francisco Mayor London Breed gets herself in some extra deep water, she does this thing where she pretends to be moderate or even come off as a conservative in order to combat increasing fire from voters.
Breed is proposing new legislation requiring low-income residents to undergo substance abuse screening and treatment in order to receive welfare.
“We need to make a significant change,” Breed said at a news conference Tuesday. “No more ‘anything goes’ without accountability, no more handouts without accountability,” she added.
So they paid people to not work and do drugs all day in the street, and now they are pretending they are surprised that a large number of people are choosing to do just that.
What a joke.
And why are they paying people to not work who are perfectly capable of working to begin with?
Were there ANY requirements or restrictions on welfare payments? Because it definitely does not sound like it.
Breed should just admit she is a total failure. People might respect her more that way.
According to FOX News, under this proposal, someone with a suspected drug problem would be required to participate in substance abuse screenings or treatment programs.
"She's in trouble," former San Francisco councilman and business owner Tony Hall told FOX News Digital. "She's found her administration is under increasing fire from the voters in San Francisco. She has to do something about the drug situation in San Francisco. So this is her latest salvo, trying to sound like a conservative in that she's really doing something. She does this periodically whenever she's in trouble. There's no follow through."
But the drug addicts in the city are not too happy about this proposal as they have voiced opposition to the legislation, with one telling the San Francisco Chronicle that it's "our choice to use."
No one is stopping them from using drugs. That is as plain as day. But it is not their money and the taxpayers should have a “choice” where that goes.
What a bunch of entitled, degenerate, and unshowered brats.
Other users voiced their concerns as well to local outlet ABC7, and Supervisor Hillary Ronen called the proposal "disturbing" and harmful to users attempting recovery.
"So, in other words, we’re going to hit you over the head with more punishment," Ronen said, according to the San Francisco Standard. "Do we really think the best way to get people better is by kicking them more when they’re down?"
How is trying to get people off of drugs more punishment? Should we just let the heroin addicts keep taking over the city because they are 'down?' What a load of crap.
They don’t live like this because they are down on their luck. What a bunch of woke nonsense these people actually believe.
They don't even pretend to care about these people. If they were really compassionate, they would want to help the addicts, not enable them further.
And can we start drug testing elected officials as well? Seems like that might be necessary based on the absurdity they spout.
But we know Breed is full of crap. This is all word vomit. She won’t actually make it happen.
"They should be drug tested and there should be a mechanism in place to not only help them, but ensure that they're tested," Hall said of welfare recipients. "So she has done nothing. There is no mechanism in place to set up the testing. So she knew this announcement and this is typical. She makes these announcements and nothing happens and that's why the city is the way it is."
Drugs or not, stop with this crap.
Here is an actual idea: How about making people work for a living?
