Fat Activist Claims Ozempic Is a “Genocide Pill” Aimed at Eliminating Overweight People

One gluttonous TikToker believes the world is out to get her, now that America has decided skinny is great once again.
There are a lot of dumb takes when it comes to the body positivity movement—which is anything but positive for anyone—but the dumbest one has got to be the idea that fatness is largely (pun intended) out of one’s control. That somehow, being a victim of fat discrimination is akin to racial discrimination. And that is precisely the message TikToker Hahamckenna is trying to portray, so much so that she believes Ozempic is akin to genocide.
Firstly, although in my unprofessional opinion I find Ozempic to be largely overprescribed and believe most people could sustainably lose weight by eating better and exercising more, I still understand that it has helped many people reach a healthier weight. I can get behind the mentality of making “skinny great again.” Nonetheless, being fat does not lessen one’s intrinsic value as a human, and it’s disingenuous for her to imply otherwise. True body positivity comes from making healthier choices for yourself and your family, and it is completely degenerate to claim that being obese is morally or physically superior to those who wish to get in shape.
Just because Ozempic exists does not mean there is a “fat genocide.” That goes beyond a mere logical fallacy, as she desperately tries to gaslight herself into doing everything except losing weight. Deep down, it’s very unlikely she is happy being overweight, as the majority of people would not be. However, to stick to her extremely weak argument, she has decided to body-shame anyone who dares to do something beneficial for their body—and there is nothing more deranged than that.
It also makes no sense to claim that this “exterminates” anyone considering losing weight—it is not a deadly phenomenon. In fact, it would likely increase one’s life expectancy, making her argument both comical and meaningless.
Don’t you also love how she tried to compare the conflict in Gaza to Ozempic? How do people even come up with this nonsense?! And, of course, she had to blame white privilege for this “problem” that doesn’t even exist. But worst of all? She likened it to some “cure for Blackness.” How does anyone even come up with this crap, especially considering that skin color is an insignificant birth trait, while being fat actually has a significant effect on your quality of life?
Her point—again, an illogical one—is that fatness is not the problem; you are. Once again, that’s a stretch that hardly needs explanation. That being said, it’s time to make shame great again, and we should definitely start with her.
