Nigel Farage Waves Goodbye to the European Union [VIDEO]
The bollocks surrounding Brexit and the European Union have always confused me. Not for lack of trying to make sense of it (see Boris Johnson and Conservatives SWEEP in General Election. Brexit is Happening! and WATCH: The Who’s Roger Daltrey Has the Perfect Response on Brexit). But there was a vote. Then there were more votes. Then it seemed like people in the United Kingdom were never not running for office. Finally Boris Johnson happened. While I admit to never fully understanding the ins and outs of Brexit, I do know that I always love hearing Nigel Farage talk about it.
So I may not understand all the words Nigel is saying. But he's very happy saying them. That makes me happy. Also, let freedom ring.
There is a battle going on, in the west and elsewhere. It is globalism against populism. And you may loathe populism, but I’ll tell you a funny thing, it’s becoming very popular. No more being bullied! No more being talked down to!
Congratulations to Nigel Farage. The Brexit Party. The people of the United Kingdom. Really, anyone who woke up and said to themself, "Self, maybe being ruled by unelected bureaucrats may not be the best idea." Americans said it about 244 years ago, and many of us are still saying it. You're welcome, Great Britain, for making freedom an attainable goal. It's taken you a long time to finally get anywhere close, but better late than never.
I will say that Farage was a lot more dignified than I would have been. Maybe it's because he's British. If it were me, I would have ended my speech "Stone Cold" Steve Austin style. Hopped up on the desk. Double middle fingers for anyone who needed to see them. Then shotgun two beers at the same time. Now THAT'S how you celebrate freedom.
Baby steps, Brits. Baby steps.
