"Gender theory" is all the rage among the young folk now. Many of us chalk it up to youthful ignorance. Not NBC. They think we should instead listen to the children and allow them to rewrite the concept of gender at their leisure.

Seriously:

This morning, we’re kicking off a special series called Pride 50 with an eye-opening look at gender fluidity....How the teens of Gen Z are changing the rules and educating their parents,” co-host Savannah Guthrie proclaimed at the top of the 8:00 a.m. ET hour.

In the report that followed minutes later, correspondent Kate Snow lamented: “So you know from the moment we’re born, we’re defined by our gender....Most of us were raised according to those stereotypes.” She then revealed the solution to that supposed problem: “But now, Generation Z, the new generation, they’re changing all that, from the clothes they buy to the pronouns they use, teens are rewriting the rules of gender.”

How about this rule instead:

Biology is a thing too. Lefties seem to think you can will yourself from peen to hoo-hah. Everybody else has to just go along with it. The only problem is those chromosomes don't lie. No Tide Pod-eating teen is gonna convince me otherwise.

Also, since when did we start considering minors to be authorities on everything? These kids are only a few years past thinking babies get UPS-ed to their parents' doors via a magical stork.

Here's a crazy idea: Children are children. It's one thing to allow kiddos to dictate the direction of pop culture. You know, the things the youngsters find to be "swag," or whatever slang they use now.  It's another thing entirely to let them rewrite what it means to be male or female.
