Two things to consider. The first, it's clear the Biden campaign believes "Joe is a good family man and loving grandfather" is something to campaign on. Remember, it's not that Joe and Hunter Biden are corrupt. It's that Joe loves his son so much he would do anything for him. The other is that at one point on Wednesday, Hunter's sweetheart plea deal was called off, but as of 1:05 PM it's back on.

While still in "defend Joe at all costs" mode, MSNBC's Kelly O'Donnell said that OF COURSE, Hunter would be on the phone with Joe on the day he is scheduled to sign a plea deal. They talk all the time. Also, "The President always makes a point that he speaks to all of his grandchildren every day."

It has since been worked out in court where Hunter will pay child support, but the girl is still forbidden from using Joe Biden's last name even though she is Hunter Biden's kid.

Reports say the granddaughter, 6, loves playing with her cousins, is learning to ride a bike, and one day wants to learn to hunt like her mom. She also knows her father is Hunter Biden and her grandfather is the president of the United States and speaks about the two of them frequently.

Joe Biden, the president of the United States and her paw paw, wants nothing to do with her. The White House has been ordered to never bring her up. The SAME White House that is trying to make "Joe talks to all his grandkids every day" a thing.

Oh, and as for why there may have been concern or question IF Joe Biden would speak to Hunter on the phone today? If I were to guess...

Joe Biden sucks at being a family guy as much as he does being a president.
