In Minnesota, you don't need an ID to vote. There is one exception to this. Unregistered voters must present ID if they wish to register on Election Day. The problem with this is that Minnesota provides ID to illegal aliens. Draw your own conclusions on this one.

Speaking on Somali TV, Melanie Hazelip, Minnesota's Voter Outreach Director, explained how and where to vote. If I didn't know any better, I might assume that announcing to the world that you don't need an ID to vote might increase the number of illegitimate votes, but I know better, so I won't say that. Nonetheless, it gets so much worse than this.

If you don't have an ID, you can still vote and register on election day.

“As long as you are registered to vote, you don't need to bring anything with you,” she said. The problem with this is: how can officials make sure people are who they say they are? Doesn't this open the potential for fraud? Again, draw your own conclusions.

She added, “If you are not registered to vote, you still have options. If you have a Minnesota ID that is updated, that is all you need to bring with you. If you don't have that, there is a list of documents on our website that you can find. You still have options to get registered the same day.”

I do not have to tell you how asinine this system is. But here is the evidence you did not need that proves just that:

This tells you all you need to know, and it is utterly unacceptable. How widespread this problem is remains unclear, but even one instance is far too many. What a total disgrace.
