Mick Jagger Says It’s Not His Job to Lecture Rolling Stones’ Fans on Politics
NYT: “Bruce Springsteen clearly sees his job as engaging in a meaningful back and forth.”

"If you think Mick Jagger will still be out there trying to be a rock star at age fifty, then you are sadly, sadly mistaken." - Almost Famous, a 2000 movie that takes place in 1973.
“My job in the live music world is for those people that come to have the best time … And you don't want to lecture them.” - Mick Jagger, 83, who last performed with The Rolling Stones in 2024 in either Missouri or Missoura.
This clip is going viral from a recent New York Times interview, where the journalismers tried to bait Jagger to talk about politics just like how Bruce Springsteen does, and instead he said his job is to entertain and not lecture people. That's the bait that's being used for clicks, and far be it from us at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website not to join in the fun.
Basically, four key points:
1. I could have sworn I read somewhere that Keith Richards recently took a shot at Trump. Honestly? The fact that Keith is still alive, he could take a shot at my mother and I'd let it slide.
2. It goes The Who -> The Stones -> Zeppelin -> The Beatles.
3. The Stones' best song is "Sway," and I'll accept no dissent on the matter.
4. Have you seen how expensive concert tickets are? Not lecturing people about politics who had to choose between groceries and seeing their favorite band live is the correct position, regardless of what journalismers would prefer artists do.
Though Springsteen fans have no one to blame but themselves, because he advertised his tour was one giant anti-Trump lecture. People paid money to see him read a speech about USIAD and NATO and a bunch of other things he doesn't understand. A speech that the Democrat Party wrote for him because Bruuuuce "codes" blue-collar, and a white man such as him bashing Trump is all the permission other blue-collar white men need to vote Democrat.

Good for Mick Jagger. How knows his job is to entertain. I also good have sworn their 1989 "Steel Wheels" tour was supposed to be their retirement tour, but I could be misremembering.
