It's not unusual a) to be loved by anyone, and b) to see Scott Jennings leave one of his CNN colleagues a stammering mess. What is unusual is for said colleague's parents to get upset about it and threaten to blacklist the network. Allegedly. Van Jones's parents let him fight his own battles. Dylan Douglas calls mommy and daddy. You know them as Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones.

When I had read on the X-Twitters that Jennings had pantsed the Douglas kin, I was confused why. Like most Americans, I don't acksually watch CNN and just catch clips on the internet, so I didn't know he had his own radio show on XM called the "Young American." Also, it appears zoomer nepo babies are a thing we're supposed to be taking seriously as we close out 2025.

A good parent would use this as a teachable moment that you should not discuss politics on television when you have no clue what the deuce you were talking about. Not Douglas and Zeta Jones. Allegedly.

The couple is said to be so "furious" with the media outlet that they intend to "blacklist the whole network" moving forward.

On Zeta-Jones' part, she has reportedly been ranting to her friends about how the interview was "unfair and exploitative," seemingly referring to how her son was left stunned and stuttering at some of the questions he was asked.

Meanwhile, Douglas shares the same opinion and has told his close circle that the outlet "crossed a line."

Yes. It was exploitative and line-crossing for CNN to a) invite someone who talks about political issues as his chosen profession to talk about political issues, b) let him know what topics (I'm assuming) so that he could prepare, and c) put him at a table that was 80% people who agreed with his political worldview.

As it turns out, at least according to the sources close to the family who spoke to Yahoo, 80% coddled is not enough.

"Dylan's never been spoken to like that in his entire life. He's always been the golden boy — adored, protected. CNN gave him a taste of the real world, and his parents hated every second of it," said a source.

My dude is twenty-five years old. That's almost old enough to be off your parents' Obamacare. And, again, he talks about these vital social issues n' stuff professionally. At some point, even living in an elitist bubble, he's going to run into someone somewhere who is going to tell him he is wrong about something and explain why.

Neither parent thought that somewhere would be CNN. Or that the someone would be Scott Jennings.

Methinks Douglas will be sticking with MS NOW. Being on a panel that 100% agrees with him instead of only 80% agreeing with him is more his speed.
