Someone should really inform the left that you can teach kids to respect all people, despite their ambiguous and indescribable feelings, without confusing them with words like “gender expression.” Because kids are highly malleable, and if I did not know any better, I might say that a district trying to teach kids these words might be indoctrinating them, but I do know better, so I will not say that.

Montgomery County Public Schools in Maryland has come under fire after it was revealed 12-year-olds were asked to define vocabulary words like “Sex Assigned at Birth,” “Gender Expression,” and “Cisgender.” And to call this surprising would be a lie.

According to The Post Millennial:

The worksheet, revealed by the group Defending Education, defined “gender identity” as referring "to a person’s internal sense of being male, female, or transgender… How you feel. Girl, boy, both or neither.” The definition for “transgender” read: “When your gender identity (how you feel) is different than what doctors/midwives assigned to you when you were born…”

I am just curious, what does an “internal sense of being male, female, or transgender” even mean? How does one “feel Girl, boy, both or neither?” What does feeling like the opposite gender feel like? These are questions that cannot be logically described, but that clearly will not stop them from trying to indoctrinate the younger generation.

The matching definition for “sex assigned at birth” stated, “when a baby is born, a doctor or midwife looks at the baby’s body/anatomy and says they are a girl, boy, or intersex.”

The lesson was part of a “family life” instruction conducted last month for middle school students in the district, ages 11-12.

This is the same district that tried to force the kids of religious parents to learn about this sort of nonsense. They even fought it all the way up to SCOTUS, arguing that parents consent to this crap by enrolling in public schools.

Clearly, this district can't stop and won't stop, but that is neither here nor there. The vast majority of people living in this country grew up not knowing what terms like “gender expression” meant, and we all turned out just fine. The fact that they feel such a need to teach kids this crap is deeply concerning, but unsurprising given the culture.

Compassion does not end the moment you do or do not affirm trans identities, and the sooner the left realizes that, the better off everyone will be. Until then, it looks like the culture has got a lot of work to do.
