CBS News's Margaret Brennan, host of Face the Nation, has been favorite of ours ever since the "I don't really care, Margaret" incident of 2025. Not that whatsherface at NBC or George Stephanapodopleidontfeellikelookinguphowtospellhisname over on ABC hates Republicans any less when they interrogate them on the Sunday morning news shows. And while they still sneer at their targets, Margaret's resting bitter face has become fantastic fodder for content.

Yes, I know the word isn't "bitter." It's my New Year's Resolution to be nicer. The over/under for me breaking it is January 13th.

It's not just me saying it. Republicans have been seizing about her face all over Cousin Elon's internet this weekend.

It started with the Marco Rubio interview we highlighted above. In case you missed it, over the weekend we snuck into Venezuela and left with President Maduro and his wife. He's been under indictment since 2020, over conspiring "with Colombian guerrilla groups to traffic cocaine into the United States as part of what U.S. authorities termed a 'narco-terrorism' conspiracy."

Leftists were angry that Trump didn't do something then. Now that he did do something, they are upset over him doing what they were upset he didn't do. Margaret was confused during her interview with Rubio.

You're confused? I don't know why that's confusing to you. It is not easy to land helicopters in the middle of the largest military base in the country, the guy lived on a military base, land within three minutes, kick down his door, grab him, put him in handcuffs, read him his rights, put him in a helicopter and leave the country without losing any American or any American assets. That's not an easy mission. And you're asking me, why didn't we do that in five other places at the same time? I mean, that's absurd.

Her interrogation of Tom Cotton didn't go much better.

It wasn't a good performance. But, to be fair, CBS News is trying. They understand that "people don't trust them like they used to," and have declared that they, quote, "love America." It's a process. I'm sure Bari Weiss is still trying to remember where they keep the toner cartridges. If offices even use printers anymore. I'll be honest, I've been out of an office for over a decade, and the only time my printer gets used is when my brother-in-law needs to print something. But I'm getting off topic.

CBS News is trying. Margaret might want to try harder.
