Mamdani continues his war on taxpayers with this latest obnoxious social media content brag about raising taxes on them

According to Mayor Zohran Mamdani, it is time New Yorkers with two residences pay their fair share. This is why he announced that the city just sent out letters reminding residents they live under a communist government.
According to Mamdani, “Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon.” He claims, “The best city in the world deserves the best parks, libraries, and schools in the world. That's only possible when we all pay our fair share.”
If you have a second home in New York City worth more than $5M, check your mailbox when you’re back in the five boroughs — because you've got mail.
Today, we sent notification letters to property owners, letting them know that our new pied-à-terre tax is coming soon.
The best…

And if you think any of this cash will be used to make parks, libraries, and schools even remotely better, you are part of the problem.
The “pied-à-terre” tax was first announced alongside Governor Hochul this past April, as part of the Mayor’s efforts to close a historic budget gap without slashing essential services or offsetting the cost onto working New Yorkers.
If people have the means to purchase a second property worth over $5 million, they very likely also have the means to leave. The mayor does realize he is destroying the incentive of wealthy people to live, work, and create jobs in the city, right?
“When I came into office, I made clear that our City would need long-term solutions to our city’s long-term fiscal challenges,” said Mayor Mamdani. “On Tax Day earlier this year, I promised that we would tax the rich, and with our new pied-à-terre tax, that is exactly what we have done. Today is the first step in implementing this tax and collecting critical revenue to fund our parks, schools and libraries. We will diligently implement this law and ensure that we collect what working New Yorkers – and this city – deserve.”
While I do not have a crystal ball, we can be 100% certain the parks, libraries and schools will not benefit because the city decided to “tax the rich.” The only people who buy this crap are those who are naive enough to believe communism will work only if we try it one more time. It truly is a level of stupidity that has no place in a serious nation.
Additionally, the fact that he is applauding raising taxes on citizens is a level of arrogance only possible among the most radical leftists. He does realize his job is to represent rich New Yorkers too, right?
The worst part is not even that he is unfairly taxing “the rich” but that he pretends this will make anyone better off. It will do none of that, and this is proven by the fact that the city already has some of the highest tax rates in the country, yet still fails at everything. What a disgrace.
