New York City is approaching a historic mayoral election that could see a Muslim socialist take office. Mug Club Undercover is back, revealing details about Robert Akleh, the Citywide Canvass Director for Zohran Mamdani, and shedding light on what this could mean for the city. Today's show breaks it down.

Speaking to an undercover journalist, Akleh admitted that they believe Muslim voters will fully secure their victory, as the people have yet to have a representative on the “pro-Palestine” side. They plan to achieve this by knocking on doors and informing voters that Mamdani is the only Muslim candidate running. According to Akleh, these voters haven’t turned out since Obama because no one appeals to them—most candidates are typically pro-Israel—and no one has spoken to their values in quite some time.

“They are Democrats. Certainly, they have been pitched the Democratic pitch forever. They mean non-American values—values that are antithetical to Western cultural values,” Gerald A. said.

Because it certainly wouldn’t be the conservative-leaning values these people traditionally hold.

“Today’s left is completely devoid of values,” Crowder said. “I am not saying that socialists and the progressive left actually have compassion or share much with Muslims. They see Islam as useful in slowly eroding Western civilization. This brings us to this kind of unholy alliance that confuses people.”

According to Edbie Liger Smith, an American Communist Party Executive Board member, “[A] secondary goal [he has] is to show American Christians how much they’ve been lied to about Islam, and how much they have in common with Muslims.” He added, “Many Muslims lead the kinds of lives that Christians preach about, but fail to live up to in practice,” and that “Muslims are overwhelmingly respectful of Christians.”

“The claims that the religion of Islam makes regarding Jesus are blasphemous enough that, if you made them about Islam, your death would be prescribed,” Crowder said. “If anyone treated Islam the way Islam treats Christianity, there would be an immediate call for death — among at least 150 million Muslims, according to recent polls.”

According to an article written in Unherd, “Some socialists will never understand the God bit. But for those of us who believe that socialism requires a religious underpinning in order to flourish, Islam feels like the future of anti-capitalism.”

According to Crowder, the only shared interest between socialists and Islamists is the destruction of the West.

“So it makes perfect sense why Mamdani is combining Islam with socialism as a powerful tool in his bid for mayor,” Crowder said.

Akleh later claimed in the footage that they would stop the NYPD from helping ICE and not allow them to enforce the law and do their job, adding that government employees are not allowed to have an opinion on the matter.

“ICE has a mandate from the masses to deport people who are here illegally,” Crowder said. “Do you know what happens when two armed groups meet in opposition? It’s a violent standoff. That is what they want, and they want to be able to point to those enforcing the law as fascist.”
