To claim that “no child has two moms” and “no child has two dads” is an objective fact that should be left at that. It is what it is. This should not be controversial, nor should it be up for debate. In fact, the fact that this needs to be said is a problem in itself. Nonetheless, residents of Lima, Ohio are quite upset over these universal rules of life.

A billboard in Lima is drawing outrage because it states “No child has two dads” and “No child has two moms.”

A billboard on Elida Road near East Road is drawing criticism from LGBTQ rights advocates in Lima. The sign, displayed in rainbow colors, reads “No child has two dads” and “No child has two moms” and is attributed to the organization Them Before Us.

Them Before Us describes itself on its website as “a global movement defending children’s right to their mother and father.” The group appears to be based in Seattle and has been running similar billboards in other cities, including elsewhere in northwest Ohio.

Again, it should not be controversial to claim children have a right to both a mother and father. The data shows that kids do better when raised by their mom and dad, or at the very least, a heterosexual couple.

For example, “Clinical experience would suggest that motherlessness, while not studied as extensively as fatherlessness, causes even greater damage to a child, because the role of the mother is so crucial in establishing a child's ability to trust and to feel safe in relationships,” according to the Linacre Q.

That research also concluded, “The extensive research on the serious psychological, academic, and social problems in youth raised in fatherless families demonstrates the importance of the presence of the father in the home for healthy childhood development.”

This is not about making people feel better. It is about what is best for the child. The research undoubtedly proves that kids need both a mom and a dad. The fact that the left has declared parenthood a right despite biology already contradicting that will never be in the best interest of the kid.

Jeff Givan, a candidate for Ohio House District 78 and co-founder of the Lima Pride Alliance, said he believes the message targets the LGBTQ community.

“It just really astounds me that people can put things up that stir up so much hate,” Givan said.

It is not about hating those with different lifestyles. Why are people so selfish? It seems that whenever defending these homosexual parent couples, the left always focuses on the parents and not the child. How pathetic.

That being said, there is only one thing left to conclude: “No child has two dads” and “No child has two moms.” If you are offended by this, you are part of the problem.
