So, it turns out that to get free housing in one of the most expensive cities in America, all you have to do is break federal immigration laws.

According to an ABC 7 report, community groups are calling on the Los Angeles City Council to set up an eviction moratorium for illegal aliens who claim to be scared of being “kidnapped” by ICE.

According to ABC 7:

The L.A. Tenants Union, SEIU 721 and the Coalition of Labor Union Employees joined forces for a press conference and rally on Olvera Street Tuesday morning.

LOL. Of course, they held the conference on Olvera Street. For those who have never been to this part of downtown Los Angeles, it’s basically “little Mexico.”

They want the City Council to pass emergency protections for people impacted by the raids, including an eviction moratorium. The unions say many families may not be able to cover rent if a family member was taken into ICE custody or if they have family members choosing to stay home from work out of fear.

How can you be impacted by an ICE raid if you are a legal resident? Why does something tell me they are solely defending those who have broken federal laws?

"We know that many tenants will not be able to pay their rent come July 1st," said Kenia Alcocer with the L.A. Tenants Union. "Why? Because this militarization of our communities, this occupation of our community, this terrorizing of our communities have closed down businesses, have taken away street vendors, have separated families - and then, people cannot pay their rent. They have barely the minimum to survive."

Question: Will American citizens also have their rent forgiven? No? Didn’t think so.

The City Council has also been working to take further action against the federal government due to the immigration raids. Last week, seven councilmembers signed a proposal asking the City Attorney to take immediate legal action to protect people from being racially profiled or unlawfully detained.

These people do realize that being an immigrant, legal or not, has nothing to do with race, right? Because it’s not really possible to be racially profiled when we are talking about legal status, but that is neither here nor there.

Leftists continue to show, time and time again, who they’re really fighting for — and it’s certainly not you or anyone who respects our immigration laws. Their fight to push the idea that “no human is illegal” is a slap in the face to all those who have suffered because of illegal immigration. And the fact that they think this makes them the compassionate ones is deeply, deeply asinine.
