Karen Bass melts down when CNN ask why LA voters should trust her to end homelessness after screwing up for four years

According to Mayor Karen Bass, she did not solve the zombie apocalypse because the homeless industrial complex is too powerful. Despite that, she believes she still deserves your vote because she is allegedly the first in a very long time to actually pretend to care, so much so that she claims to have decreased homelessness by over 17%. The problem with this, however, is that reality tells a different story.
🚨 OMG. This is BRUTAL for Karen Bass!
CNN: Your goal was to end street homelessness by 2026 in LA. It's now 2026. We haven't ended it, and we're not close. How are you so OFF?
BASS: When I said that...I didn't realize the bureaucratic barriers. I'm prepared now.

This is not even a good excuse. And there are so many things wrong with what she said, but the worst has got to be that she has decreased homelessness.
Firstly, she claimed there was a 17% decrease in homelessness. Anyone who has spent any time in the city can tell you that this is a lie. She justified this claim by using numbers from the Point-in-Time (PIT) Count, which is LA County’s homelessness census. This is a “volunteer-led visual survey of over 2,800 census tracts to determine the number of people living unsheltered on the street.” However, according to RAND, “An extrapolation of the 2025 undercount in three neighborhoods to the city as a whole shows that up to 7,900 persons and dwellings may be missing from LA’s most recent official homelessness count.” You can draw your own conclusions, but if you believe the lie that LA has decreased its homeless population, you are part of the problem.
Secondly, she claimed that long ago, the city, as a matter of policy, made it permissible to have zombies doing drugs and camping on the street, so long as officials were building housing. The problem with this, however, is that the problem has nothing to do with housing. Anyone with a fraction of a brain can tell you these people are severely addicted to hard drugs and are not “unhoused” as a result of falling on hard times. It is disingenuous to pretend housing will solve the problem.
The biggest slap in the face to voters, however, is that people like Bass pretend to be compassionate while they continue to destroy a once-great city. It is not compassionate to allow drug addicts to waste away on the street. It is not compassionate to public safety to allow theft to go rampant. It is not compassionate to allow public nudity while kids are subjected to conditions that even the third world would be appalled by. And it is not compassionate to lie to voters by pretending you will “solve” homelessness, when the numbers you use are misleading, at best.
The fact that she believes she deserves another term despite making everyone worse off is a level of arrogance only possible among the most naive leftists. Residents deserve so much better. Let's hope they realize that before it is too late.
