COVID quack claims “anti-vaccine activism” resulted in thousands of deaths in one freedom-loving state

Peter Hotez claims half of the COVID deaths in Texas were caused by “anti-vaccine activism.”
“My estimate is of the 100,000 Texans who died in our COVID pandemic... almost half, 40,000 to 50,000, died after vaccines became widely available. And because so many Texans refused a… https://t.co/bUeOeDzfJQ pic.twitter.com/QVYbYWzDgS

The left promised everyone and their grandmas that the vaccine would end the Panny D. Ironically, it did not. The left also promised this would stop the spread. Ironically, it did not. The left promised it would stop you from getting the invisible sniffles. Ironically, it did not. The left promised that it would stop people from being hospitalized. Ironically, it did not. So, it begs the question: if the vaccine was so effective, why was it not effective? One may argue that, given this evidence, the conspiracy theorists were right and the “experts” were wrong. However, “experts” don’t like being wrong, which may explain why Peter Hotez is blaming “anti-vaccine activism” for COVID deaths, despite common sense proving otherwise.
According to Hotez, “of the 100,000 Texans who died in our COVID pandemic, nearly half, 40,000 to 50,000, died after vaccines became widely available. And because so many Texans refused a COVID vaccine, 40,000 to 50,000 Texans died because of anti-vaccine activism.” He added, “They were victims of these predatory attacks.”
According to a study published in PubMed, “the viral load in the vaccinated population is not consistently lower compared to the unvaccinated, and during the omicron predominance, the viral load was even somewhat higher.” It concluded that “Overall, there is no convincing evidence that the COVID-19 vaccination significantly reduces the risk of transmitting SARS-CoV-2 to others.”
So, while it's cute that Hotez would like to victim-blame and shame those who decided to engage in bodily autonomy, the evidence speaks otherwise. However, you don't need a scientific study to prove that the vaccine was not as effective as the left pretended. In fact, none of their measures did anything to “slow the spread.” Because if masks worked, why didn't they work? If the vaccine worked, why didn't it work? If closing the economy worked, why didn't it work? If forcing kids to stay home instead of going to school worked, why didn't it work? These are things people like Hotez will never explain, as proven by the fact that everything the experts predicted was inaccurate, at best.
According to Anthony Fauci, the six-foot social distancing rule was arbitrary, at best. Many things the left demanded you partake in were not based on scientific evidence, but leftist dogma. So, while many on the left would blindly turn into sheep and roll up their sleeves solely because “the science,” aka political science, demanded it of them, others wished to use their own judgment. And for that, people like Hotez would like to shun them into oblivion. That's not science, it's the antithesis of it.
While I am not here to convince you that the vaccine didn't save lives, I think the evidence speaks for itself. Hotez can say whatever he wants, but it's now 2026, and crying about people not being vaccinated is so 2021. Unclear if he got that memo, but someone should really inform him of that.
