My advice to everyone reading this is to start a bail fund for yourself. Nothing major. Just start putting some money away each week. You never know when you'll need the money. I'm not saying any of you will break the law. If you're reading this, you're most likely not a liberal activist. But you never know when a hospital will have you arrested for refusing to leave a loved one's side. Even if that loved one just had brain surgery, and you are concerned they might not make it through the night.

A story like this should be shocking. When hospitals are canceling KIDNEY TRANSPLANT SURGERIES over new rules, a seventy-year-old woman spending a night in jail is as surprising as it would have been during the "before times." It doesn't make me any less stabby.

Lynn Savage had been at her daughter Amber's side since 6:30 am that day. WJAX-TV says Amber is "non-verbal and partially paralyzed on the right side" after suffering a stroke. That's what the brain surgery was for. Lynn was at the hospital to serve as an interpreter and for support.

Then 7:00pm rolled around, and a nurse told Lynn she had to leave. Due to COVID restrictions. It's a tricky virus. Apparently, after being in a hospital for thirteen hours, staying any longer would spread it all over the place. Lynn had said, "I could not in good conscience and good heart leave her bedside not knowing how she was going to make it through the night voluntarily."

So the hospital had her arrested. In a statement, UF Health Jacksonville said ... You know, I don't really give a f*ck what the hospital said. You put me in this same position, I too will be arrested. Bring back-up.
