SNL's Finale Just Brutal on Hillary Clinton: 'I really don't like people...'
It was the season finale of SNL, and while we're going to miss Larry David as Bernie Sanders, we're at least still going to have Kate McKinnon lampooning Hillary Clinton as calculating, fake, and unlikable. Parody needn't even enter into the equation. It's really more of an homage to Hillary, if you will.
Last night, Hillary and Bernie had one last laugh together...making fun of the debacle that was the Democrat primary.
Sanders, now seated at the bar beside Clinton, requested "a new brand that people are flocking to — something refreshing, something that draws crowds." Clinton, in turn, said, "I'll have whatever beer no one likes but gets the job done."After clinking glasses with Sanders, Clinton attempted to make nice with the senator, saying, "Well, Bernie, no matter what happens, you've got to admit we've had some good times."
Sanders replied, "It's true. Remember when I told everyone to stop talking about your damn emails? What a schmuck!"
Both candidates then broke into laughter. "That could've taken me down!" Clinton said. "I do not like humor, but that was funny."
She added, "Remember those states where you beat me by a lot, but I still won the delegates?" Both can't contain their laughter about how their poll numbers were "so rigged."
They then toasted to Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Which, even though I know it's comedy, still makes me...
There are some things you just don't joke about. It'll be interesting to see in the fall if they show the same Hillary, or if they switch to general election mode and try to make her likable. Hopefully they don't pivot from comedy show to "DNC propaganda arm" as they've done in the past, but you never know.
Okay, scratch that. We know. They're no doubt going to become a huge ally to the Clintons and DNC in the fall. So, enjoy the summer off and waterproof your basement. Come fall, there's a storm coming.
