Dems who blasted Trump for calling Haiti a "sh*thole" now say the same thing so that we don't deport any Haitian illegals

There’s a reason people from all over the world don't do everything in their power to flood the border of Haiti. This is because it’s not a functioning country. This is not racist, nor is it complicated, but for some reason, the left has decided this should become the burden of the United States of America. Why this became an American problem rather than a Haitian one is beyond reason, but that won't stop the left from demanding you bend the knee and accept the people responsible for “warfare, rape, and violence.”
According to Democratic Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson, the conditions in the country have made way for violence, warfare, and rape. This is why she, along with other delusional leftists, is begging the Trump Administration to extend Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitians before the designation expires this week.
Rep. Laura Gillen (D): "Sending Haitians to Haiti is a death sentence”
Imagine saying Haitians can’t return to Haiti with other Haitians because it’s too dangerous, yet Americans are forced to live with them. pic.twitter.com/IJf123JaRB

At one point in time, the left pretended that Haiti was a wonderful country and that any remarks otherwise labeled you a racist. Weird how now they only speak truth to power when they don't get their way.
I'm sorry, a few years back people like you were telling us that Haiti was a paradise on Earth after Trump called it a shithole. What has changed? pic.twitter.com/kftubNBWRL

Call me crazy, but if a country is so great, it does not take this much effort to convince people of that.
According to the Miami Herald:
South Florida leaders urged the Trump administration on Tuesday to extend immigration protections for Haitians, warning that the loss of protections from deportations would be devastating not only for affected families but for the communities where they live and work.
The appeal comes just days before Haiti’s Temporary Protected Status designation is set to expire on Feb. 3. Without a court order or a reversal by President Donald Trump, more than 350,000 Haitians nationwide would become vulnerable to detention and deportation to a country overwhelmed by gang violence, political instability and one of the world’s worst humanitarian crises.
As you may recall from the 2024 presidential debate, these people may or may not have been “eating the dogs.”
Trump: “They’re eating the dogs. They’re eating the cats.”

I am certain this was the moment Trump won the 2024 election.
Up to 15,0000 Haitians have sought residence in Springfield, Ohio. Sherrod Brown has called on the Governor to join his efforts to demand that the Trump Administration extend TPS for the Haitian community. He claims this puts Ohio communities first, but if you were paying any attention in 2024, you would understand this made life extremely hard for Americans in Springfield. People were kicked out of their homes, rents increased exponentially while Haitians paid nothing on the taxpayers' dime, and welfare benefits were cut off for American citizens in favor of those with TPS. So, if you want to put these communities last, we should do exactly what Brown is calling on the government to do. But if you wish to put the American people first, we must end Temporary Protected Status yesterday.
I’m calling on Governor Mike DeWine and Senators Jon Husted and Bernie Moreno to put Ohio communities first and join my call to extend TPS for the Haitian community. pic.twitter.com/Pl7UIWU5hY

If people like Wilson wish to convince the Administration and Americans that there is a benefit to continuing TPS for many Haitians, they ought to bring a compelling argument as to why this is in the best interest of this country. They can't do that, though, which is why the only thing left to do is paint them as victims, as if that's a problem for this country to take up. Unfortunately for the left, it is not. So, while they have admitted that Haiti is a crappy country, that comes a little too late, America will now be great once again, and it's not thanks to the left's lies and fake compassion that did nothing for the American people.
While I am not here to tell you the Haitians were, in fact, eating the pets, I am also not here to tell you they weren't. But, had the left taken the problems of Americans the least bit seriously, maybe their concerns would be acknowledged today. But again, because they mocked you and all the people bringing attention to these issues brought on by Biden's open border policies, we have no choice but to mock them. And unfortunately for the left, that is nothing but a personal problem.
