Work out much? This woke columnist claims it's making you a "rightwing jerk"

For quite some time now, the left has tried to claim that morbid obesity is a good thing, so much so that they started an entire movement called the “Body Positive Movement.” However, it’s unclear exactly how increasing the risk of deadly conditions and disease was something people started to strive for, but there’s no point in making sense out of nonsense. Nonetheless, taking care of your body suddenly turned into another right-wing phenomenon and now this story exists.
A columnist at The Guardian published an article titled, "Getting fit is great – but it could turn you into a rightwing jerk.”
Zoe Williams wrote that the “more self-actualized you become, the higher you are on self-righteousness, blaming other people’s problems on their failure to be as healthy as you."

Basically, she believes that the more you live up to your fullest potential, the more you project your insecurities, which makes absolutely no sense but for laughs. Let’s dissect it.
But there is a dark side to wellness, which I always, for shorthand, thought of as political: getting fit makes you more rightwing. The mechanism is incredibly simple: you embark on this voyage of self-improvement, and more or less immediately see results. You feel stronger and more energetic, probably your mood lifts, and pretty soon you think you are master of your own destiny. You’re still not, by the way: destiny does not care about your step count. But until that fact catches up with you, which it may never, there you are, high on self-righteousness.
In other words, getting fit is an objectively good thing that makes people happy. However, the left is objectively miserable and misery loves company. That’s why they will constantly claim anything under the sun to gaslight the masses to become self-loathing leftists.
She even equates physical wellness to “self-righteousness.” This only proves how narcissistic the left is because only a leftist lunatic can equate getting fit to feelings of moral superiority and intolerance. It also shows how insecure these people are considering she thinks that one’s health journey has anything to do with her or anyone else.
Inescapably, you start to situate other people’s problems within their failure to be as fit as you. This is particularly true if you don’t know them and they’re just a bunch of numbers. All those statistics – depressed people, obese people, people with IBS – imagine how much better they would be if only they took responsibility for their health, the way that you have.
Can she get any more self-conscious?
Firstly, many health problems would improve or even disappear if people become healthy. There is even evidence to suggest that exercise is 1.5 times better at treating and/or reducing depression than medication. So she’s factually incorrect, but what else is new?
And even if what she was saying was true, that doesn't mean that giving someone health suggestions that have worked for other people is something innately sinister.
And yet that harsh, judgmental inner voice will never be satisfied just shouting at numbers, so sooner or later you’ll turn it back on yourself. Fitness has a capitalist logic – I guess because there’s so much money in it? – so nothing is ever enough.
LOL. Okay, what?! Literally, you don’t have to spend a dime to work out. You can do it almost anywhere. That makes absolutely no sense. I just can’t with that one.
As soon as you can run 5km, you want to run 10. Before you know it, you’re swapping Strava stats with people you used to think were tossers but now, miraculously, you find you have a lot in common with. Always competing, always striving for growth, even if by “grow” you mean “shrink”. You have internalised the market, unfortunately. Also, you’re getting on everyone’s nerves.
Actually, she is the one getting on everyone’s nerves. People who make the gym their entire personality can get annoying to some people, but that’s not an issue that is worthy of an article. But liberals always complain about nonissues and make things out of things that are not a thing.
And how self-righteous is she to try and insult people who dedicate their time to health? Now it just sounds like she is projecting, which is another common characteristic of the left, as they always point the finger at everyone else for their wrongdoings.
The only thing sinister about what she is saying is literally what she is saying. Unclear why she wants more people to be miserable and fat (probably) like her, is because she loathes herself. But many people want to better their health and that doesn't sit well with her, which is nothing more than a personal problem.
I can’t be certain, but I am pretty sure that if more liberals went to the gym the world would be a better place. Not that the gym is political, but I digress.
