August 26 marked the one-year anniversary of the thirteen service members who were killed during a terrorist attack in Kabul. Joe Biden, the commander-in-chief critics hold somewhat responsible for their deaths due to his incompetent Afghanistan withdrawal, marked the occasion by *checks notes* hanging out with Jay Leno. At least one Gold Star Father who lost his son that day is not amused.

While Biden was pushing his political agenda, Darin Hoover was at Arlington National Cemetery. His son, Marine Staff Sergeant Darin Hoover, was one of the service members killed that day. Hoover told the Daily Mail of Biden's slight: "'He is tone deaf and insensitive. It's ridiculous, I don't expect the world to stand still to celebrate our children but at least do something. We went to Arlington and laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Why can't he do something in memory of all 13?"

In Biden's defense, he did mark the occasion by making a statement to the press.

Whoops. Still talking about Jay Leno. But the White House issued a statement marking the occasion on Biden's behalf. So, at least there is that.

When the attack happened, Biden's response was panned by multiple Gold Star Parents who were turned off by Biden's behavior and lack of empathy. Gold Star Mother Shana Chappell, whose son Lance Corporal Kareem Nikoui also lost his life that day, said of meeting Biden, "He interrupted me and started talking about his son."

It is unclear when Biden hanging out with Jay Leno will be broadcast.
