To believe the polls or not believe the polls. That's the question everyone is asking, what with the last few cycles of "polls show Trump is a goner" paired with "election results show that polls are bootycheeks." While CNN would LOVE a big blue wave to be true this time, polling guru Frank Luntz is afraid he's got some bad news.
The rub is pollsters haven't grappled with the fact that the people they need to speak to in order to get an accurate reading don't trust them.
We know that they don't respond to phone calls. We know that in the exit polling back in 2016, and I say this publicly because I want people to hear this ... I got 2016 wrong. I believed in the exit polls. Trump voters walked away, refused to participate, because they thought that it was against them.
In the end, Republicans are less likely to participate. They're less likely to believe the polls are happening.

It depends on how you define "Trump supporter," but I would broaden it out to anyone on the right. Because we all have the shared experience of seeing people get fired, doxxed, threatened, or otherwise have their lives upended just for admitting out loud to supporting Trump, or for even liking the wrong tweet or meme.
We also have the shared experience of the last 12-15 years of expressing the most milquetoast of right-ish leaning opinions and having every liberal we've ever known in our lives come out of the woodwork to attack us for it.
Now have a stranger call you and ask what your opinion of Donald Trump is?
If you even answer the phone to begin with. Seriously, it's 2026. What kind of a psychopath answers numbers they don't recognize?
I both don't believe the polls AND don't believe the polls are a psyop hoax. They are a snapshot in time of three days when a pollster makes phone calls that get run through an algorithm.
The one phone call that matters is the one YOU make to friends and family to make sure their voting. We have two weeks. It's all gas, f*ck the breaks.
