Stacie Marie Laughton shattered a glass ceiling becoming America's first transgender lawmaker. In June, she/her shattered another glass ceiling becoming America's first transgender lawmaker to be arrested on child exploitation charges. Further disturbing details have come out that also implicated Laughton's former girlfriend, who was also a school teacher.

Laughton resigned she/her position as New Hampshire state representative in December 2022. Prior to that, the Democrat Party was excited to be shattering the glass ceiling. So much so, stalwarts like Beto O'Rourke and Rep. Eric Swallows went to New Hampshire to campaign for the local election.

Laughton was also an avid Bud Light drinker.

Laughton was arrested in June on charges she/her allegedly distributed child sexual abuse images. New details have come out about where and how she/her allegedly obtained the images. Laughton's former girlfriend Lindsay Groves was a teacher at a daycare center. Groves, allegedly, used the children's bathroom breaks to take photos of the kids and send them to Laughton. This includes diaper changes.

There were over 2,500 text messages between Laughton and Groves on the phones obtained by the prosecution. These included at least four sexually explicit pictures of children between three and five years of age.

According to the Boston Herald, in one alleged text from Groves, she said to Laughton, “I want to do this with you with one of my kids.” The text was in conjunction with a picture focused on the genitals of a prepubescent boy.

Stacie Laughton has been charged with one count of sexual exploitation of children and aiding and abetting. Groves, who was employed by the daycare center until this past June, has also been charged with child exploitation. The charge carries a sentence of at least fifteen years in prison, at least five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.
