If this surprises you, you haven’t been paying attention.

I don’t think any more evidence is needed to show that the UK has fallen, as officials seem determined to protect foreigners over their own citizens. In their quest to ensure no human is “illegal,” they’ve allowed some of the world’s most dangerous predators into the country. That’s bad enough. But what’s even worse is when a predator who caused lasting harm to young girls receives a lighter prison sentence than the people who protested him.

According to Sky News:

Multiple protests have been held outside the hotel after asylum seeker Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, who lived in the hotel, sexually assaulted a woman and a 14-year-old girl in the town.

Ethiopian national Kebatu, 38, arrived in the UK on a small boat just days before the assaults in July. He was jailed for 12 months after a trial at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court last month.

The trio participated in the "high-profile protest in Epping outside the Bell Hotel on 17 July this year", prosecutor Gordon Carse told Chelmsford Crown Court.

Hundreds of people protested the government, arguing that officials were failing to keep their children safe by allowing convicted rapists to enter — and even remain in — the country. And they were right. Gerberslasie was sentenced to only one year in jail and won’t be required to leave the UK. It’s hard to understand how such a dangerous man can be allowed to stay after harming innocent children, but that’s what happens when the government prioritizes the idea that no human is illegal.

Anyway, counter-protesters ended up protesting the original protesters. Reports indicate that police struggled to maintain order, and the court system has decided to hold Stuart Williams, Martin Peagram, and Dean Smith accountable — in ways they would never do for a foreign national who has harmed children. Does that make any sense to you? One of these men got one year and ten months, the other two received over two years, while an actual predator who has harmed multiple people barely gets a slap on the wrist. Now, to be fair, the courts ruled that the three men were disorderly, but the math just doesn’t add up here…

If I didn’t know any better, I might say this looks like a two-tier justice system — but I do know better, so I won’t be saying that.
