EPIC: Ted Cruz Mocks George Stephanopolous... To His Face!
Regardless of your opinion on Ted Cruz as a Presidential candidate, sometimes the guy just pops a jab out there so firm that heads snap. What adds particular zing to Cruz' punches is that (for the most part), instead of relying solely on personal insults, he centers them around facts that sting even more. Case in point, this awesome interview with George Stephonopoulous.
Watch their full exchange below:
During the interview, Stephy (it's a term of endearment, you guys) attempted to corner Senator Cruz into saying it didn't make mathematical sense to stay in the race, and he should withdraw from the process. Cruz responded with,
"Well, you know, George, every candidate will have to reflect on where the race is, will have to give it prayerful consideration. But what is clear is if the race remains divided, Donald Trump's path to the nomination is much more likely. Whereas if we unify, if it’s, head-to-head, our campaign beats Donald soundly."
Wait for it...
"And for everyone concerned about the best interest of the Republican Party, if Donald is the nominee in all likelihood, your former boss Hillary Clinton becomes the president. In all likelihood, Republicans lose the Senate. In all likelihood, we get our clock cleaned up and down the ballot. We lose the Supreme Court for a generation. We lose the Bill of Rights for our kids and grand kids. I think that would be a terrible outcome."
Your former boss! Oh, and by the way, if that traitor you worked for (and secretly donated $75,000 to while covering her campaign, because, ethics in journalism) does become President, America as we know it goes up in smoke. Just like her server.
Cruz, 1. Stephy, 0.
Good lord. If Cruz keeps treating the media this way they'll need to put him away for murder.
