Robert De Niro claims loving America is like loving a spousal abuser. No, really. He said it with his whole chest and everything

Robert De Niro spoke at a counter-Democratic event Tuesday night. He did this to protest the State of the Union. What he said, however, raises more questions than answers.
According to De Niro, he “loves our country” but “in the current climate, declaring love for our country is like an abused spouse professing love for their abuser.”
Or like Stockholm Syndrome, if you will.
He went on to say: “We’re now in a country by and for a handful of dishonest, greedy and cruel authoritarians.”
Does he truly believe corruption in this country only occurred because Donald Trump was elected president? Was it not corrupt when Biden was president? Is it only controlled by a handful of tyrants when a Republican is in office? Because last time I checked, tyrants don't tend to give up power. So, if it was this way from 2016-2020 — but Trump willingly left — and then was voted back four years later — the math does not add up.
Have you ever heard of a dictator willingly leaving office to later take over the country he willingly left? No? I didn't think so.
The left needs to do better with whatever message it is they are trying to convey because the logic is not valid.
“I feel betrayed by my country,” De Niro added as the crowd cheered him on.
Well, that is nothing more than a personal problem. He can cry crocodile tears as many times as he wants, but he fools no one. The only people convinced by his message already agree with him, and the rest of the world is mocking him. The sooner he realizes that, the better off he will be.
