Comedian Jim Gaffigan Shares 'Outrage Prison' Video, Skewering Social Media Outrage Mobs
Comedian Jim Gaffigan just shared this Throwback Thursday post from The Jim Gaffigan Show. It features public figures doing prison time for saying or doing something the outrage mob found displeasing. Enjoy!
Hey, all comedy has a grain of truth. We've already seen the outrage mob flip its fingers to anything resembling a statute of limitations. Hunting down past tweets of anyone just because the mobsters who make up the mindless horde of internet sleaze demons haven't a life of their own. Targets have recently included Kevin Hart and James Gunn who dared tweet things more than ten years ago which were considered offensive. Then blokes like Jimmy Fallon had to cave to the mob because Norm Macdonald said a thing.
There's really only one sure-fire method to deal with the outrage mob. First, expose them for their silliness, as Nick Cannon did over the weekend with Kevin Hart's situation. Then tell the outrage mob to go fornicate with a doorknob. Read Dear Victims of Internet Outrage Mobs: NEVER Apologize!
Or you could do what Gaffigan did: just mock them for it and never back down.
