Today’s show welcomed Jason Calacanis of the All In Podcast to discuss why he believes Joe Rogan and Donald Trump should “have a f—ing heart” on immigration — a comment Crowder immediately responded to, saying, “How about we enforce the laws that put Americans first?”

Calacanis, a self-identified “moderate,” believes Trump was elected for two reasons: he was the stronger candidate and to close the border. And even though illegal immigration is more unpopular than ever, he claims Trump’s approval ratings are at an all-time low. He also warned that we should be careful about giving the federal government too much power, because one day a leftist president could target American citizens for saying or doing politically incorrect things.

“It is morally imperative that we create a culture of deterrence,” Crowder said, adding, “If you want to have a heart, you need to deport every person you possibly can who is here illegally” and “seal off the border.”

Crowder asked if he would support deporting violent criminals, and questioned if Calacanis agreed to the idea that anyone seeking a path to citizenship should have to immediately pay back taxes, pass a civics and language test, pay a remittance tax, and prove they have contributed to their community.

“I think it’s a brilliant proposal,” Calacanis said, adding that it’s similar to the Canadian system. However, he said he would take a different approach, suggesting they could maybe meet in the middle and find a way to make all Americans somewhat happy.

“We thought about some ideas that you don’t hear in mainstream media,” Calacanis said, adding that the pair went beyond typical media talking points and that he hopes both sides can be taken into account to solve these issues.

“My solution is to seal the border and deport every illegal alien,” Crowder said, addressing concerns that this might be too expensive by noting that, just from fraud alone, over one trillion dollars could be saved.

Calacanis, however, claimed that one of the main reasons unemployment is so low is because of immigrants like Elon Musk, who have created jobs.

However, Crowder pointed out that the number of jobs added for native-born Americans under the Biden administration has been close to zero, even dipping into negative numbers, resulting in a net job loss for native-born workers. He added that this is one of the reasons Trump remains extremely popular.

“Americans are losing jobs; they are being replaced,” Crowder said. “Those are the people who have been left behind.”

While Calacanis noted that many jobs have been lost to automation and increases in the minimum wage, Crowder pointed out that salaries only increased by $1,000 under Obama, rose $4,000 during Trump’s first term, but then dropped $4,000 under Biden.

So, in other words, leftist economic policies put Americans last.

“There is a far greater effect on the average American wage that relates to immigration policy, and it is a far better metric to look at than minimum wage,” Crowder said.
