While the Democrats pretend to be all in it for the little guy, things aren’t always as they seem. So, while they claim to have shut down the government to prevent people from dying, nothing could be further from the truth. This is why David, a self-described Log Cabin Republican, said what needed to be said.

While just about everyone can agree on the importance of saving children, most sensible people don’t want to see taxpayer money spent on killing unborn children. And while it’s my unprofessional opinion that transgender surgeries are medically unnecessary—so much so that they could be classified in the same category as elective plastic surgery—at least we can agree that we don’t want to pay for transgender surgeries in other countries. Similarly, most people would agree that we shouldn’t fund healthcare for foreign nationals so that “all these illegals get stuff" while you get nothing.

These should not be controversial opinions, as they seem so extremely reasonable that in a normal society, they would go without saying. However, we no longer live in a normal society, and the Democrats have decided that shutting down the government is justified to advance their agenda.

At the end of the day, most Americans can agree that the government needs to “stop spending money on ridiculous things.” This should go without debate, yet the Democrats have chosen to frame it as a life-and-death matter, which could not be further from the truth.

As David said, keeping the national parks open is unimportant compared to addressing these issues. Once again, the fact that this is somehow debated is astonishing.

Anyone with even a fraction of a brain can see exactly what the Democrats are doing—and it’s certainly not fighting for you. But then again, what else is new?
