Paris, France was rocked with bomb blasts and mass shootings today. At least 35 are known dead, with 100 or more in a hostage situation.
According to the Daily Caller, hostages are being slaughtered one by one:
CNN Australia Anchor Michael Holmes has tweeted out that people inside the Bataclan have been texting because “terrorists are slaughtering them one by one.”

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the deceased, those who are held captive, and the entire city of Paris. As of yet, no one group has claimed credit, but authorities are suspecting it was a Muslim terrorist attack, for reports such as this from FoxNews:
No one immediately claimed credit, but a gunman at one of the attacks, at a Petit Cambodge, a Cambodian restaurant in the city’s fashionable 10th arrondisement, was heard shouting “This is for Syria!” as he sprayed gunfire at horrified patrons, witnesses said.

At least one of the explosions was the result of a suicide bomber:

Not shockingly, some Muslims around the world are rejoicing, like this guy. H/T to Daily Caller:

In a state of emergency (obviously) President Francois Hollande has closed the French borders. Because border security matters, doesn’t it? For a nation to be protected from attacks, the first thing you need to know is who is coming in and out. Look, it brings us no joy to say this, but when tragedy and emergency strikes, everyone becomes a Conservative. Borders are closed in France. Because borders matter. France hasn’t been hit this hard since World War II, because this is five times the attack of Charlie Hebdo. Of course, back in January, liberals called for understanding of Islam and condemned anyone who would mock the prophet (read Actually, The Future SHOULD belong to Those who ‘Slander’ Muhammed). Then we have world class idiot Piers Morgan:
These murderers aren't refugees. Nor are they real Muslims. They're terrorists who've hijacked a religion for nefarious gain. #paris

Annoyingly, even American news outlets are dancing around the M word. Muslim. With people reporting shooters and bombers were screaming “Allah Akbar” seems obvious this was a Muslim terrorist attack. Good luck finding reference to that in breaking news. As our friend Milo noted:
Just come back from dinner and seen Paris news. Awful. Who is responsible? All the news reports are being cagey.

Okay, time to look at the macro issues here. Searching Twitter, what we see is an outpouring of love and support for Paris. Parisians are standing up in solidarity with the victims. They’re sending prayers and love, and in my search I noticed a contrast to what we normally see over in the states at a school shooting: no calls of blame. This was an Islamic terrorist attack. No one is yet calling out Islam like they call out gun owners after a mass shooting. Islam cannot coexist peacefully with any political or religious system with which it disagrees (read 5 Reasons the Qur’an Can Never ‘Coexist’ With the Constitution…Ever) and we need to acknowledge that.
No.They're suspicious of refugees who subscribe to an inherently violent religion that's caused this in Paris before https://t.co/y8vYASVBcO

Paris is proof: citizens need the right to bare arms, competent police officers and strict borders. None of which are popular to say.
Stay alive, brothers and sister.
