Brazil President Jair Bolonsaro Throws Down! Delivered Fiery Speech Against Tyrants, COVID Shutdowns
At the outset, this video requires reading. I know that seems wrong, but I'm at the age where I have closed captioning on at all times because, like Stephen Tyler, I don't want to miss a thing. Figured if I was going to date myself, go all in. The video below is from last month in Brazil, where leader Jair Bolonsaro explains why he wants to arm citizens: so they don't become slaves to a dictatorship. He notes how quickly Brazilians have lost their rights during the COVID-19 shutdown, and he's not just issuing a warning to Brazilians, he's warning dictator-wannabes who might try to rise up. It's a good speech, even if you have to read for the translation.

According to CNN:
Brazil's Supreme Court released a video of President Jair Bolsonaro meeting with members of his cabinet last month. Bolsonaro can be heard swearing several times on the nearly 2-hour long video, which is part of an inquiry into allegations he sought to interfere with federal police investigations.
CNN has a non-embeddable video on their website because screw 2020 technology. In it, reporter Nick Paton Walsh says that Jair Bolonsaro doesn't think the video above is incriminating. So my dude isn't backing down, he's doubling down.
As to what kind of role Bolonsaro has in these same measures, I'm not sure. I'm not an international political junkie, just a firey speech about freedom and rights and how much COVID-19 shutdowns are tyranny junkie.
Granted what we saw was just a snippet, but if the tone and tenor of the entire two hour video is in line with the two minutes above, it's pretty spot on. Dictators seek to disarm citizens prior to lording over every aspect of their lives. See also Adolf Hitler Loved Gun Control. Secondly, controlling, dictatorial types have pounced on the COVID-19 shutdown to be controlling and dictatorial. See also Hey Democrats, We Found the Real Nazis. Even in the United States we're seeing cases of power-hungry authorities, like this pair of cops in Wisconsin, exercising their despotic fantasies by tightening control over everyday people.
So yeah. Giving people guns is at least one way to keep them from being enslaved by would-be dictators. The first step would be for citizens not to just surrender their rights over fear of catching what's basically a bad cough. But since reading studies not reported by mainstream media is hard, it's nice to know there's at least a little backup should caca hit the spinning ceiling fan.
