You know that French government officials have gone mental when they start prosecuting people for sentences they label as "criminal" and “violent transphobia."

Dora Moutot, a women’s rights activist, “is on trial after being accused of promoting violence against transgender people for stating that women needed to be wary of ‘people with penises.’”

According to Reduxx:

Dora Moutot, an author and campaigner, faces possible criminal penalties, with prosecutors arguing that her views contribute to a harmful social climate linked to “trans youth” suicides. They are seeking a fine of about €2,000 and an order that she attend a so-called re-education course.

This is incredibly absurd and easily debunkable. If society's views were correlated with the trans suicide epidemic, then the rates would be going down, as society's acceptance climbed. That is not the case because it turns out, it has nothing to do with random people's opinions and everything to do with their mental struggles. But even if that were not disprovable, which it is, this is still an absurd claim. Opinions don't contribute to youth suicide, especially sensible ones, and it's the most deranged form of gaslighting ever seen coming from a government entity.

The legal complaint, first lodged in February 2023, has been backed by three LGBT organizations – Adheos, Mousse and SOS Homophobie – on behalf of the mayor of Tilloy-lez-Marchiennes, a trans-identified male named Nicolas “Marie” Cau.

Why am I not surprised that the mayor is also trans? And isn't it ironic that these people go crazy the moment their ideology is jeopardized? Could this be because, to convince the masses that trans ideology is rooted in truth, which it’s certainly not, you have to do it by force? You do the math.

Court documents reference a 2022 episode of late-night talk show Quelle époque! which featured a debate between Moutot and Cau. While discussing the issue of men who claim to be transgender women, Moutot stated that women have a need to be cautious in the presence of “people with penises.”

Wow. This should be the most noncontroversial opinion in the history of opinion. However, according to some French authorities, it is the biggest sin that allegedly contributes to youth suicide. These people are so deranged and don't even try to come up with good arguments. They just blatantly lie. The fact that people are dumb enough to believe that "controversial" opinions have any bearing on the mental health of trans people is a scandal in itself.

It’s not the job of society to affirm abstract feelings at the expense of public safety and women's rights.

Fortunately, in America, we still have this little thing called “Freedom of thought.” Turns out, though, you don't have that in France. And if you are surprised by this, you are not paying attention.
